What's the Difference between Alprazolam Xanax and Fluoxetine.

Hello everyone, about a year and a half ago my 13 year old little sister committed suicide. Since then I have been suffering with intense anxiety and depression. My psychiatrist put me on Paxil and it has worked and honestly saved my life. I went from going every day having panic attacks from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to sleep. I am really scared that now that I am pregnant and not on my medication that the anxiety will come back. Any advice about how to deal with anxiety or if it is worth it to continue medication. That company has been sued multiple times for pregnancy related reasons. I was taking it as needed before getting pregnant and also Prozac. I would talk to your doctor and see if you can get on something safer like Zoloft. Doctor said no more Xanax but I could continue the Prozac. I'll admit I still take my .5 if Xanax here and there but it's the only thing that will calm me down. Mixing alcohol with Paxil can lead to some unwanted side effects. Paxil may also affect alcohol cravings, though findings on this influence are still unclear. It may also make Paxil less effective at treating depression. If the drug doesn’t work as well, your symptoms may come back. Because of these factors, people should avoid drinking alcohol while they take Paxil. Alcohol also can increase some of Paxil’s side effects, especially dizziness, sleepiness, and trouble concentrating. Other side effects of Paxil that alcohol can increase include: The relationship between Paxil and alcohol misuse is unclear. Some information seems to indicate that Paxil use helps curb the reliance on alcohol in people with anxiety disorders, while other information has indicated just the opposite.

Paxil (chemically known as paroxetine) is in the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of antidepressants. SSRIs increase the serotonin levels in the brain and this elevates a person’s mood. Paxil is mainly used to treat major depression, panic disorder, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder and generalized anxiety disorder in adults. It is believed that Paxil is non-habit forming and non-addictive. Yet, when it is abused like any other drug, a Paxil addiction can be developed. Paroxetine is a heavily prescribed drug which makes it easier to acquire. This also makes it easier to develop a Paxil addiction. Paxil (paroxetine) is commonly known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) known to improve mood, sleep, appetite and energy levels. The prescription medication has been used to treat depression, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and common anxiety disorders. In a study conducted by the California Pacific Medical Center, Paxil (paroxetine) was administered to 42 patients. The patients suffered from varying degrees of alcohol dependence and anxiety disorders. Patients were treated with either paroxetine or a placebo for 16 weeks. After the study, patients who received Paxil reported similar alcohol intake but less anxiety. They also “relied less on alcohol to engage in social situations” (Thomas SE et al., Alcohol Clin Exp Res 2008;32(1):77–84).

Paxil (paroxetine) is an antidepressant medication approved for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and other anxiety disorders. Like other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), it was developed as a treatment for depression. Paxil was approved for the treatment of GAD in 2001 and social anxiety disorder (SAD) in 1999. It is also a prescribed treatment for panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The precise mechanism responsible for the antidepressant and anti-anxiety effects of drugs like Paxil is still not completely understood. They are classified as SSRIs because they prevent the re-uptake of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain and nervous system. Nerve impulses are transmitted chemically between neurons in the nervous system. Neurotransmitters like serotonin are produced by one neuron. .pass_color_to_child_links a.u-margin-left--xs.u-margin-right--sm.u-padding-left--xs.u-padding-right--xs.u-absolute.u-absolute--center.u-width--100.u-flex-align-self--center.u-flex-justify--between.u-serif-font-main--regular.js-wf-loaded .u-serif-font-main--regular.amp-page .u-serif-font-main--regular.u-border-radius--ellipse.u-hover-bg--black-transparent.u-hover-bg--black-transparent:hover.
